As umpires, our work depends upon our ability to integrate and interact with the people in our communities. Because of this, Copper State Umpires Association Inc. has made a commitment to give back to the local community as part of our mission to make a positive impact in ways other than just on the baseball field.
Continuing its long standing relationship with the American Legion and American Legion Baseball, CSUA launched its first annual fundraiser in 2011, with all proceeds benefiting American Legion Baseball. For more information on how to donate to American Legion baseball, please contact CSUA.
In addition, CSUA partners with UMPS CARE, an organization started by Major League Baseball umpires “to provide financial, in-kind and emotional support for America’s youth and families in need.” Since 2007, Copper State has donated to UMPS CARE to help contribute to the significant impact they are making for kids and families in need.
In conjunction with its commitment to the local community, Copper State annually contributes to the City of Surprise Academic All-Star baseball game, which highlights the accomplishments of local high school baseball players who prioritize their work in the classroom and in serving the community, in addition to their baseball skills.
Finally, Copper State developed a valuable partnership with Little League Baseball starting in 2003. Since then, CSUA has voluntarily staffed two-man crews for over 100 games during the Little League All-Star season, donating more than 400 hours of umpiring services per year across Valley Little Leagues.
